The 2012 Sky High Hope Camp by RMHCD will be July 8-14
Until there's a cure --- THERE'S CAMP!
Sky High Hope Camp is a week-long camp for children who have (or have had) cancer and their siblings. It is held each summer at Buckhorn Camp, Bellvue, Colorado, west of Fort Collins. In 2012 it will be held from July 8th to July 14th.
At first glance, it appears as any other overnight camp. Campers participate in archery, arts and crafts, canoeing, hayrack riding, whitewater rafting, skits, a sing along under the stars and a field day. However, at closer look, one notices a few wheelchairs, some bald heads due to chemotherapy treatments, and scars from surgeries. These are children who have endured much as a cancer patient, or as a sibling, and they are having the time of their lives.
The week is filled with laughter and enduring friendships, all made possible through the work of our dedicated volunteers and the monetary donations made to Ronald McDonald House Charities of Denver.
