Sky High Hope Camp 2008 "Until there's a cure --- THERE'S CAMP!" |
|||||||
| Sky High Hope Camp, a camp for children who have cancer or have had cancer, and their siblings, will be held from July 12-19, 2008, at Buckhorn Camp, Bellvue, Colorado, 10 miles west of Fort Collins. |

| At first glance, it appears as any other overnight camp. Campers participate in archery, arts and crafts, canoeing, hayrack riding, whitewater rafting, skits, a sing along under the stars and a field day. The teen groups developed teamwork and leadership through a ropes course at CSU. However, at closer look, one notices a few wheelchairs, some bald heads due to chemotherapy treatments, and scars from surgeries. These are children who have endured much as a cancer patient, or as a sibling, and they are having the time of their lives. Besides the normal camp activities, the campers will dance to the sounds of a local Denver band named "Too Much Fun." The band donates their time and talents every year to a most appreciative crowd. The week will be filled with laughter, making new friends and renewing friendships from previous years. It is all made possible through the generous donations of volunteers' time and monetary donations to Ronald McDonald House Charities of Denver. Please call 303-832-2667 to obtain registration materials or find them as .pdf files on our Sky High Hope Camp volunteer page. |
